Although I didn't buy it because I was only 4 years old in 1952 - here is the first album I owned, my brother and I had our own record player too. We wore out that album we played it so much, I think I could still repeat the story word for word.

How can you remember back that far? I am not real sure what the first album was. It was most likely purchased on cassette when I was in grade school. Something like Make it Big by Wham! in my top 40 stage, before I transitioned into more rock music like Jethro Tull and Rush. In one of my many moves I purged all of those top 40 cassettes, so I am not even sure what I had.

First album given to me when I was about 5-6 was Carnival of the Animals.  First one I ASKED for was some soundtrack from the Speedracer TV show about the same time.  Actually still have both for nostalgia though don't listen to either.  First album I BOUGHT (with my allowance) was ABBA Gold from the local Penguin Records (long gone).  Yeah, ABBA.  Gimme a break - I was 7 years old........the next album being AC/DC Back in Black on cassette.

Bought at Star Records in Whitby, Ontario when I was 12 in the summer of 1980. It's basically a Canadian version of the Please Please Me album.

Pretty sure it was BTO - Not Fragile. I know for sure the first record I ever bought was a 45 of Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen - Hot Rod Lincoln

Live Cream, Volume II

And after I posted this I put it on (the MFSL version). The music is great, and this version has good SQ, unlike the LP I bought back in the early 70s.

I was 12 years old and I walked to the local department store and bought Jethro Tull's "Aqualung."  I've still got it!

Bough four albums at once:
Jefferson Airplane:
1) Takes Off
2) Surrealistic Pillow
3) After Bathing at Baxter's
Along with "Savoy Brown A Step Further"  (A Detroit staple is there ever was one)

It's been a wild ride ever since!

On 8-Track. Which I absconded from my parents.
Not sure how I feel about that.

Probably
Through The Past, Darkly - The Rolling Stones
First Pull Up, Then Pull Down - Hot Tuna

I still like both of them, some things never change.

The first I purchased. I clandestinely listened to my older sisters albums when they were gone.  Maybe I should come clean now...

Uh, yeah, Bob . . whitebread.  No offense.  The first Beatles album I thought had something going on was Rubber Soul.  Before that, I think bubblegum would describe them.
