"Pops and crackle" and udac
« on: 14 Sep 2010, 07:02 am »
Hi,

So I'm experiencing troubles with the audiostream on the udac with several different computers. I know this is something others have had problems with too.

I was wondering if someone could post posible fixes or maybe point me to an existing guide?

In the old pro audio days, this problem would be solved by increasing the audio buffer size, but since the udac does not seem to have a dedicated driver, I was unable to find a control for that.

Thanks!
Sune

Go to Control Panel (in Windows 7) turned off all the Windows default manipulations.

Control Panel_Hardware and Sound_Sound_Manage Audio Devices

Go to 'Communications'
Set to 'Do Nothing'

Then Select go to Playback tab, choose Nuforce's 'Sound Properties"
Go to 'Advance'
Check both "exclusives control' items there.

Hi Casey, Thanks a bunch for your answer!

I've tweaked the setting you mention, but unfortunately the problem persists.. :-|

P.S.
"Go to Control Panel (in Windows 7) turned off all the Windows default manipulations."
I'm assuming this just refers to how the control panel is displayed?
