NuPrime BTR-8 dongle?
« on: 24 Jan 2017, 04:02 pm »
Hey guys, is anyone using this on a DAC9? I'm currently troubleshooting some USB noise and would like to see how it sounds when I send my Foobar output to Bluetooth, if feasible from my Win 10 PC.

If so, what's the maximum resolution of the BTR-8?

Thanks!

I don't know what codec versions of Bluetooth the BTR-8 supports, but even with Enhanced aptX at both transmitting and receiving ends, the 2-channel bit rate maxes out around 384kbps compared to a lossless uncompressed bit rate of 1411kbps for 16-bit/44.1kHz audio.

The current state of Bluetooth is a convenience connection rather than substitute for standard resolution USB or S/PDIF connections.

You might want to look at the WR-100.  It goes to 24/196.
