PURPLE FANS - Blackmore vs. Morse.

Who is better?

We all know that Blackmore is a true master,
his track records have provened that.

How about Steve Morse?

Look at his early Purple gig DVD "Bombay Calling"
(1995, after Blackmore quit.) Morse was simply
mind-blowing. Also, in the later Purple gigs as well.

Blackmore was acting like an asshole, in the "Live
at the Royal Festival Hall - 1992." He was pushing people,
and throwing water around on stage, all caught under live
camera... But I must added that even he stopped in the middle of
playing his solo, and throw water on the other side of the stage,
and continued on with his solo, all without missing a beat!

Oh. Don't forget to keep an eye on Blackmore... You can see his evil look at Ian Gillan.

Verdit?

I'll vote for Morse.  I think he's more versatile.  Pick up his 2000 disc Major Impacts.  He pays tribute to his influences as them!  Incredible.

I already have that one. GREAT STUFF.

Pick up "Bombay Calling," and the old "Deep Purple/Royal Philharmonic Orchestra: Concerto For Group & Orchestra."
if you hasn't. Both are superb performances.

Morse was smoking in Bombay Calling. And see Glover bomb-diving with his's whammy bar equipted bass.

The sound quality is just superb. The live feelins are all there.

I've never really checked out DP with Morse but when I was in college I saw the Dixie Dregs at least a dozen times and Morse is a monster.  The man can play anything.  Of his solo albums my favorites are Introduction and Coast to Coast.

My vote goes for Morse, he and Frank Marino are two guitarists that are must see for musicians and music fans.  Blackmore in his early years was an innovative and exciting player but even by the time of Machinehead he was faking on himself. He never approached the talent of Steve Morse but he did sell more records.

I have to vote Morse as well.

Here's a bit of trivia, anyone remember the short time that Tommy Bolin was in Purple? That tour was the first concert I ever attended, I think I was about 15 at the time.  :o
