New 3-way floorstander
« on: 8 May 2019, 08:29 pm »
I just finished a dual 8" 3-way design using all SB Acoustics drivers.

The floorstander features the SB23MFCL 8" woofer (same model I have in the Coesivo and Vigore), SB Satori MR13P midrange, and SB29BAC beryllium tweeter. I love how this system performs and it's the best value I have in a floorstander.

The cabinet is the same size as the Coesivo and plans will be provided for a kit. If you prefer an assembled system I can offer a nice discount on that as well. Message me here, call, or email for pricing. Here's a picture of the Coesivo (DIY build) for reference.

Sounds intriguing, Rick!

Sound wise, how different is this from the Essenza?

The mid and upper range are very close to the Essenza. The main difference is in the bass - more dynamic capability and deeper extension.

The SB Acoustic drivers are pretty amazing.  Every time I've heard them it's been really impressive.  Maybe even more musical than the Scan Speak drivers.  They just capture the flow of music in a way that few other drivers do.

40"x 10 3/4" x 14" (HxWxD) and 80 lbs. each. The kit price is available via PM/phone/email. Assembled in a standard veneer $4,200 - $4,500/pr. depending on where you live in the mainland USA (I can quote for other locations as well). The sensitivity is 86.5dB /2.83v / 1M , 38hz-20K (+2/3dB) response, -10dB @24hz bass extension, and 6 ohms / nominal impedance 4.6 ohms / minimum.
