Up for sale, a beautiful pair of 45 monoblocks, Canadian Walnut Edition. Made in Canada by Triode Lab.
Single-ended direct-heated triode amps based on the 45 power tube, 2 blissful watts per channel.
These amps are basically brand new, I've been running them in and they have about 10 hours on them - I just got the power and rectifier tubes last week. The amps sound outstanding. They're dead quiet and very musical, with the holographic SET midrange in spades, really nice extended highs as well. 45's are regarded by SET fanatics as being a notch better than the 2A3 and 300B. You need very efficient speakers for these. They're best used with an active preamp. These have the "low gain" option input sensitivity, so a preamp with decent gain is needed. These don't have cages, thus the discount. They sell for $2650 without tubes or cables. I'm offering them at the price of $1975 with a full set of tubes (I'm a Triode Lab / Finalé Audio dealer).
