Rick's white gloss Supercharged SongTowers
« on: 11 Jan 2013, 09:52 pm »
Rick wanted a pair of front-ported Supercharged SongTowers and a matching center channel.  I don't recall ever doing a gloss white pair of speakers.  But Rick selected a white automotive finish, we purchased the paint and here are the results...

And a close up...

Happy listening Rick!

Very nice!  I have thought about having a pair of gloss white speakers in my own rooms and have wondered how much attention they would call to themselves.  Looking at these, I can't help but think that would be a good thing!

Those are certainly cool looking.  Would be interesting to see them in their final spots within the room.

My wife required that they match our existing cabinetry in the living room.  That happens to be a high-gloss white.  I figured that the drivers on the ST-SC with their black surrounds and white-ish cones would provide an interesting appearance.  I'll post a photo of them in place once I they are delivered.

I just noticed, has Jim changed the nameplate design?

These look great!  Enjoy!

It is 3 dimensional now versus engraved.

Wow -  great choice, Rick! Congratulations, and if this is your first pair of Salk's then welcome to the Salk family!

That's a really nice clean contemporary look.  The black plinth contrast sets off the white nicely, and does a nice job of balancing the speakers and ports.  I'll bet it looks nice with the grills on as well.

The new Salk logos look good too- they are much more recognizable from a distance.  I'll bet Jim gets a few request for those for retrofitting!

Rick- I'm looking forward to more pictures of these once they arrive!  I know you'll enjoy them.

Jim, I like the new logo style. Is it easy to retrofit the logo. I want something like this in stainless or aluminum.

They made it to San Jose but my work is closed for the holiday so no delivery. I'm heading over to FedEx to pick them up instead. Should have a few hours to unbox, setup, and take photos tonight.

I am prone to liking the newest thing... But I much prefer the previous engraved badge.

Was there a special consideration in having them front ported? Closer to the back wall?

Just my personal preference, but +1 to the prior silver nameplate.

Those are slick, Rick!   :thumb:
Love the high contrast white/black port & surrounds.

I like the new name plates too, Jim...  though they do make me think more slick/polished...  "big business" rather than "hand made boutique."  I like the old name plates too...  both are cool in different ways.

Brilliant! This was exactly what my wife and I were looking for.

Rick, can you share how you were able to match up the color?
