This is a very nice Don Sachs Tube Phono Stage. It has a nice big, bold, detailed sound.

It’s an upgraded Phono Stage based on the VTA PH-16.

Tubes included:
Russian 6922 main tubes
Sylvania 6CG7 from 1958 buffer tubes (6922 can also be used but Don prefers these)
12x4 Rectifier Tube

Gain: 42Db
Available settings:
Impedance: 68k, 47k, 33k,27.8k, 19.4k, 1k, 511, 332, 221, 100
Capacitance: 33pF, 68pF, 100pf

See chart attached as these switches can be combined for additional values. It is highly adjustable for MM carts and Matching to a SUT for MC carts.

I'm also including detailed instructions from Don to upgrade the output caps to VCap ODAM. I'm not good with DIY but Don says this is a worthwhile upgrade.

I built one of these VTA kits and upgraded most of it based off the D.S. version minus the big Audyn caps in the power supply. All in all, this is one hell of a great phono stage. Good luck with the sale. Someone is getting a hell of a deal.

It’s not a prototype, the preamp shown on the website is basically the same preamp in a different case. I believe Don can build them in a case with tubes exposed or the fully enclosed version. I purchased this new from Don with the best parts he was using at the time. When I ordered it the wait time was 8 months.
