Hi Folks,

There are now a large number of control interfaces available for the Bryston BDP Digital Players that we have tested and which work well.

2.   ROON

3.   RIGELIAN - Apple Store

4.   SOUNDIROK – Apple Store

5.   CHIMNEY – Windows Computers

6.   M.A.LP. – Android Play Store

7.   DROID MPD Client – Android Play Store

8.   Glider Music Player – Apple Store

This list of interfaces was rather good timing for me so thank you for that, James. I originally hit a snag trying Rigelian with the BDP-2. The app insists on MDP V.0.19 while the BDP-2 seemed to like 0.17.6 and simply ignored my selection of 0.19.21 from the drop-down menu until I tried a different browser. It turns out that a slightly old Firefox version I still have for a specific feature will not work as intended with the current Manic Moose.

I mention this only because after solving the problem I was left with an undeletable and useless post so it seemed better to edit it into something potentially helpful. ;)

Thanks Jozef - glad things worked out OK.

We usually recommend Chrome with the BDP's.

New In Glider 2.0 for Bryston BDP Digital Players

• Generic MPD device support is now available, making Glider the only app on any platform to support all streaming protocols including: UPnP/DLNA, OpenHome, MPD, AirPlay and Chromecast. Many MPD devices will be auto-discovered, but a new option has been added to add an MPD device using the IP address and port number.

• A new 'Analog' display mode allows you to focus on album-based listening with a distraction free experience. Play full albums, one at a time with no extraneous features.

• Recently added albums are now displayed on the main Library screen, and the Albums view has a new 'Recently Added' sort option. Your history of recently added albums will be stored in iCloud and will be restored during a delete and re-install of the app.

• You can now easily add files to Glider using the iOS Files App, the 'Share' button in Safari, and AirDrop from your Mac.

• Last.fm integration has been added to automatically scrobble whatever's playing in Glider. If you're listening without an internet connection, then your scrobbles will be stored locally and synced to Last.fm when your connection returns.

Bug Fixes:

• Properly order tracks in the queue When playing multi-disc albums
• Allow local iTunes files to stream at the native resolution without downconverting
• Sync fixes for MyCloudEX2Ultra NAS drives

To test this app, open TestFlight on your iOS device using iOS 10.0 or later and install the update.

Thanks for the Glider 2 info, James - looks good. Is there a link to a Glider web page? Can't see one.
Are there beta testing opportunities available via TestFlight.

Capture of the Glider application in its latest version, using the iPad for control and Bryston BDP-1 playing, I have to say that Glider is a very good application once migrated to the paid version, I control both the BDP and the Naz perfectly and I have access to thousands of music files with differen bitrate including DSD. I have to thank Mr. Joe Stelmach for his quick communication and his knowledge to start Glider on his iPad. I recommend you try Glider.

Greetings.

Alexander.

Hi Folks,

I’m happy to inform you that Rigelian is now also available as a Mac app from the Mac App Store.

So you can use this BDP control interface on your MAC laptop or computer as well as your Iphone and Ipad.

You can also use the Bryston BR-2 Remote to control basic functions on the BDP-1 :thumb:

Play
Pause
Stop
Next
Previous

It works great when you load a playlist and can not be bothered with the visual interfaces. The Album and Artist are still displayed on the BDP-1's two line display as you move through the playlist.

Hi James, Can BR2 switch on/off of BDP-3?

Hi James, Can BR2 switch on/off of BDP-3?

I believe so but I can check if you want - do you have a BR2?

The BR2 is no longer available so only the BR4 now.

Yes, please check it for me because it is main function for me to buy BR2. BR4 has similar function as BR2 besides outer case, backlight and auto sensing light? Thanks

Hi,
Just joined community, thanks to Adam TANNER from BRYSTON.
I am interested in Sound, that is what matter the most in an Hi-Fi system, don’t you agree?
Happy to discuss you experience with Digital Player in particular.
My best,
