I am 53, I watched Mr. Rogers plus electric company, and sesame street in my middle childhood. He was a safe haven for me.
This documentary is perfect for our time and every time. I dragged my 13 and 15 yr olds to this movie. My 15 yr son admitted to tearing up a couple of times. The rest of the audience in the theater were my age or above.
Just go and see it. I promise you that it will move you and make you realize that America is great because of people like Mr. Rogers. But, like his son stated in the movie, it was like I had Jesus Christ as a father. He had his foibles and his idiosyncrasies that made him human, but no one can logically deprecate his actions on television.

I want to see this movie.

Thanks for the review. I'll put this on my list of things to watch.

Did Eddie Murphy play the lead?

I’m from Pittsburgh, so of course we will see this !!!

If you're not in tears by the end, you're not human.

I'm a bit late, hopefully it will make it to Netflix. Guys like Mr. Roger's demonstrate that I grew up in a far better time than today.

Awesome. See it in theaters.

It restored my faith in human nature.

It was fantastic. What a tremendous soul. The world is a less-kind place since Fred Rodgers left.

It definitely brought back some strong childhood memories. And then to be able to see him through the lens of an adult, it really gives a more complete picture of who he was and what he meant to the world. I rarely re-watch films, but I'm positive I'll watch this one again at some point in the near future.
