Hello, this is my first post. I moved in with my girlfriend into a new house and I'm able to have a speaker system again without disturbing my neighbors as much. Unfortunately a week before I was going to move my old speaker system out of storage and into the new home, Hurricane Milton flooded and destroyed the whole storage facility.
I'm looking to incorporate my headphone system into a 2ch or 2.1 speaker system for home theater and music. I'm using a Chord Mscaler > Chord Hugo TT2 > and newly acquired Chord BerTTi stereo power amp. Without much research, I tried out SVS Prime Pinnacles and was underwhelmed, then tried SVS Ultra Towers which were better but still not to my taste. I then started researching a lot more and I'm currently honing in on GR-Reseach stuff like the Bullies or NX-Studios with a sub. But I'm still looking at everything.

Welcome!

Check out Philharmonic, or maybe some of the Fyne offerings.  Depending on what you're looking for.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

  • The elephant normally IS the room
Music listening is different from HT listening.  Music is more about tone and imaging.  HT is more about dialogue and dynamics.  Don't know how much power the Chord power amp is rated at but would look for more efficient speakers.  Seems like you like to listen loudly.  With a sub the need for tower speakers is minimized.  So I'd focus on 2-way monitors (cheaper to buy/ship/sell) plus a sub.  Hopefully there isn't kids or pets in the house to knock the monitors over.

Sure, if you are willing to DIY, look at GR.
You own some high dollar gear already, so these vids would point you toward speakers depending on budget.

$5000-$7500 choices

I'm using my NX-Studios with an SVS sub, Pontus 12th DAC and Odyssey Stratos amp and I've very happy.

If you're okay with DIY, the GR Research offerings are great bang for the buck.

Lots of choices.  Good luck with whatever you choose.

Erin is great. Love his channel. I definitely watched a lot of his videos for my research.

I don't do DIY, but GR Research offers completed speakers too, which is still a great bang for the buck from what I hear from owners. I was heavily considering the NX-Studios which seem amazing, but through email, Hobbs at GR Research suggested that wouldn't be their best speaker for HT because they're lacking in dynamics. He suggested 2 X-CS Encores or X-CS Bravos for a L+R, and that they'd handle music good as well.

I actually ended up buying the Bullies, since they do everything great, have incorporated servo subs, and tons of controls and options as a all in one package. I can't go too crazy with booming bass where I live, so I'm hoping the Bullies will suffice or I still may end up getting a SVS sub.

Other than speakers, I think you should take a close look at a Lyngdorf 1120. I’ve had a few different 2.1 HT setups over the last 10 years or so and the Lyngdorf is just a SUPER centerpiece. Room Perfect (room correction) is awesome! I love the flexibility of it too. You can choose the crossover point between mains and sub(s). You can also choose crossover slopes as well as boost or cut frequency ranges to suit your preferences. Don’t be put-off by its relatively low power spec. It has plenty of power for everything except maybe the most difficult speakers, plus the crossover removes the bass load off the mains and directs it to the subs anyway. What’s neat is that you can turn Room Perfect on/off at your fingertips. The effect is not subtle.

I may go a different direction if I can change my Bully order. How's the Studios for HT and the phantom center?

Looks pretty convenient, but what if I already have a high end dac and amp

Based on your needs and your Chord gear, you made a wise decision with the Bullys. Don't look back.

Help me understand why one is more suitable than the other for my application, besides more volume and the included subs vs separate sub. Thanks
