Title: When was the last time I cried...............TODAY
Post by: TKonrad.NOLA on 21 Oct 2020, 01:01 am
MY 19 month old Goldendoodle, who thought I had left, bolted across the room to find me and knocked one monitor from the stand.  Thankfully, he is okay but my Silks were damaged.  I have been fighting back tears all evening.

i have been holding back tears.  As great as they sound, the fit and finish was my joy.  To see it damaged truly hurt my heart.

Oh no! I wonder if Jim can repair them. It's probably worth sending him and email and seeing what it would cost to repair.

Sorry about your bad fortune.

But have faith.  A good furniture repairman can do wonders with that little damage.  I speak from experience (and mine was much worse than yours).  You'll never know it happened if he/she does a decent job.  If I could find my pics, I'd put them up here...lost.......

Good luck and as for that g-doodle....  :whip:

Sorry to hear that.   There are some good furniture repair guys that can fix that and it will be just a memory.

Honestly, I had been thinking about getting new cabinets.  The walnut is gorgeous but doesn't really blend with my new room.  I have reached out to Jim.

My new room has white walls, a distressed wood floor and gray trim.

I've never liked monitors for this reason.  The closest I've ever had to monitors are my NHT bookshelves I am using while I wait for the next round of Salks to arrive.  I managed to knock the speaker off the stand and it hit my SVS SB13 at the same time.  So I got a two-for-one damage deal on that.  Towers all the way.

I own some 800-series B&W's...  pretty sure the president of the company would not reach back to me personally to offer a solution if I damaged them.  Hats off Mr. Salk.  I have a buddy considering your speakers... I will share the story.  :thumb:

The Salk team can definitely repair that.

Technically speaking, Jim's not the president. He is the chief cook and bottle-washer! :icon_lol:

You'll be getting what appear to be new speakers.
