Geo. D. Rosengrant

I'd like to send a shout-out and a thank you to a chap named Geo. D. Rosengrant.  Don't know the man.  Wouldn't know if he posts or visits here or anywhere.  All I know is that I received an album in the mail in pristine condition bout two or three years ago, SCALES, by The Manfred Schoof Quintet on the ECM label.  I love this album, side one in particular, and had raved about it.  He had to have seen my comments about it and got my address somehow.  His name is on the front and back cover and the label itself as tho he were a DJ or a college student living in a dorm, perhaps.  He may not have liked it cause it looked and sounds like it had seldom been played.  Well, it gets played here, good sir.  It's playing as I type, in fact.  If you ever get to Houston I'd like to invite you over.

The Joe Harriott Quintet - Abstract
Joe was considered at the time as Ornette Colemen's British counterpart.  I have his "Free Form", 1960, and a tribute album from Ken Vandermark's Joe Harriott Project, "Straight Lines", 1998.
