3 Dexter Gordon's and Bill Evans at the Vanguard - Nice!

Throw in ACHipo's Tangerine and I need a hi-ball.  :thumb:

Me too! But I have to wait until 5pm. That's what my boss says anyway. Of course, it's mostly because of him I need one. Ugh, a dilemma. That calls for ... more Dex!

Got everything else he did in early 60's except this, it's near the top of my 'to buy' list, if not #1 on it.

If only early 60's then you need this terrific live set as well, from 1967 if you don't already:

Or you can do as I did, before I realized this box existed, which was acquire the three discs released separately as "Body and Soul", "Both Sides of Midnight", and "Take the A Train".
Strongly recommended.  :thumb:

Rock, ET,

Thanks for more stuff on my wish list, which means 10x (at least) stuff that I never knew I needed...

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, a little Billy...

Billy Holliday
All or Nothing (1956-57, Verve remastered and released on SACD by George Marino at Sterling Sound and released by Analogue Productions)

Billy Holliday vocals
Hary Edison trumpet
Ben Webster tenor sax
Barney Kessel guitar
Jimmy Rowles piano
Joe Mondragon bass
Alvin Stoller drums

In a word, outstanding!

Nice  :thumb:  Pluses and minuses, as with all things. Means your business clients know where to find you 24/7. Bonus is a short commute.

Yes, I go into one of our local offices 1-2 times a week, and 1-2 times a month I travel nationally within Canada.

The slow days at home in the recliner in front of my main system in the basement are very rewarding indeed.

Less so when I have to turn off the tunes for conference calls, but the commute is indeed perfect.

Blade,
With a first name of "Slide" I'm guessing it's pretty good trombone playing?

Bob,
You keep dangling the Monk thing.  I'm looking, I just haven't found it yet.  Seems Monk, 'trane, etc. flies out of my new favorite record store pretty quickly.

Here's what I've got going to decompress tonight...

A bit edgy for my tastes, but man the playing is amazing.  It's a new SACD from Impulse.  Another great one recorded by Rudy Van Gelder in 1964, and produced by Bob Thiele.

John Coltrane tenor sax
McCoy Tyer piano
Jimmy Garrison bass
Elvin Jones drums

ACHiPo,
that's right, he's a trombone player, he has a great history. But, many people are not aware of it in detail.
Love his "Jazz with a twist, Explosion" album.
