Larry Coryell  ~  Offering

Vanguard

:thumb: :thumb: :thumb: I have a couple of his old Vanguard releases, too:  Spaces with John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Miroslav Vitous, and Billy Cobham.  How about those guys for bandmates.  The Restful Mind with the guys who made up the band, Oregon.  About Spaces Critic Bob Palmer for Rolling Stone magazine wrote in '74, "One of the most beautiful, perfectly realized instrumental albums in a long while".  A note that might be of interest to some, Gloria's Step written by Scott LaFaro is on Spaces.  The title track and one other are written by his wife.

Thanks Jim! Spaces is excellent, an incredible line-up. I haven't spun The Restful Mind in a long time and will do so soon now that you mentioned it. I have a lot of Coryell's lp's and like most of them. The "Offering" lp has Steve Marcus on soprano sax and he really smokes through that lp. Yeah and Oregon were something else. I love the 70's fusion stuff and attended quite a few concerts back then but never saw Coryell.

Cheers, Bob
