I'm happy to say my 15 year-old Sony amp just keeps sounding better and better ever since I hooked it up to a pair of Bob's mini's.  :thumb:

How's that for a positive review.  :green:

Actually, I found out today that my power amp will be shipped back to me on Friday. So sometime next week, I'll have all the pieces to this puzzle in house.

Hi Chris,

If I'm not mistaken, the Sony is a 90W integrated amp.

Funny thing, First I decided that I didn't want to "contaminate" my new mini's with that crappy old signal from the Sony. That lasted a day or so.

My next strategic decision was, what the hell, I'll use the Sony to break-in the mini's or at least get started. I also decided that all I would do is connect the TV cable box up and just listen to TV, including some Music Channels music. There would be no "good" signals coming from my Cary CDP

I wanted to wait (am I nuts?) until everything was here before I found out what I had invested in.  :thumb:

Well, as I said, the Sony amp has never sounded so good (or am I just kidding myself?). I even marvel at the great bass on some TV commercials (I am nuts).

Anyway, this is fun. And it's only going to get better right?

I've even gone off the deep end in the headphone arena. Tomorrow I've got a pair of Stax OMII Mk1 electrostatic headphones coming. So when I get tired of Bob's crappy over-hyped little bitty mini's, I'll just strap on a set of headphones.  :green:

This audiophile thingy is alright so far.
