Sub $100 multitrack system - Pi based
« on: 31 Jan 2017, 08:42 am »
Hey all,

We had a breakthrough which allows us to get multitrack (6 in / 8 out) working with the Pi. This effectively lowers the cost of anything which requires more then 2 channels to lower then $100.

The pricing is something like this :
1 Raspberry Pi : $35
1 Audio Injector Octo sound card (RCA breakouts) : $44
Total : $79

If you want balanced breakouts, then is goes like this :
1 Raspberry Pi : $35
1 Audio Injector Octo sound card (TRS 1/4" breakouts) : $100
Total : $135

Hope I can interest you to support the kickstarter !

thanks

Welcome to AC, flatmax! That looks really cool. Love the low price and the inputs.

Thanks to Odal3 for finding it.

flatmax, can you estimate what sample rate can be achieved with 2ch input and 8 ch output running 20 IIR filters? (4way xo + 4 contour filters per side.)

What DAC chip, what ADC chip are used?

What input and output opamps are used?

Does the optional balanced output board use differential mode output, or balanced impedance?

Thanks!
Rich

Hi Matt, welcome to AC.  Your product looks like a fabulous bargain for those looking for a multi-channel solution, so that's why I moved the thread to where it's most appropriately placed.  We love having manufacturers on the boards here at AC, it's one of the things that makes this place special.  Please take a moment to browse the About/Help tab, is a pretty quick read for the posting guidelines for Industry Participants.  Looking forward to your future posts.
