I want to busk...amp? Looper pedal?etc..
« on: 29 Oct 2012, 05:12 pm »
So I want to play on the street/ busk
I play flute/ Native American , other instruments , sing etc..
I need a looper pedal to play back 5 to ten loops or more (inexpensive)
Tiny microphone that hook on or off flute
Small portable amp to plug looper and microphone into
I want to go as cheap as possible for this set up.
Any help for set up or what to buy or how to hook this up appreciated
Thanks,
Todd

Here are your battery-powered amp options:

I've only seen the Rolands and the Crates on the streets of Boston.

Thanks Ericus!
Can anyone recommend an inexpensive looper pedal? Do I hook the looper into the amp? Never done this
Thanks

The Boss RC20XL is probably the ticket.  Looks like it's got 11 slots and\or 16 minutes of record time.  I haven't used it myself, but I have the RC-50 and it's pretty awesome, so I assume this works similarly.

I see a lot of the dudes around town using an ipod.  Singers can easily get karaoke mp3s but I've also seen a flamenco guitarist use one.  He must have recorded his own background tracks.  If you decide to use one you'll probably need to get an amp that has two inputs to control the volume if the ipod volume control isn't enough (when hooked up into a Y adaptor with your mic cable).  As for hooking up the looper, I think most people just plug into the box and send another cable out to the amp.  You could use the amp's effect loop but it seems unnecessary and would use an extra cable.  Do you  have a Guitar Center close by to check out all this stuff?
