I am using an Oppo BDP 83 as transport for SACD listening to a Monoprice HDMI splitter.  From there the splitter goes to my EE minimax DAC.  I am utilizing a 2 channel stereo set-up.  My question pertains to the setting on the Oppo for HDMI audio.  It gives me 2 choices, either Bitstream or LPCM.  Which one of these should I choose?  I appreciate any insight into this matter.  Thank you.

Well...try them both.  LPCM would be the best choice for HDMi de-embedding, but bitstream for sending encoded soundtracks to your processor or recover (i.e HDMi back end).  I am confused, though, by your use of the term "splitter".  Is it truly an HDMi splitter, or do you mean de-embedder?  if the latter then I'd ask this question on that thread.
