TweekGeek has info on this Media server on their site, they even have a manual up!

Indeed, quite curious.
But that's only the operating manual (of Digibit Sonata One), it doesn't inclue technical specs.
Or those technical specs are also the same as Sonata One?

And the picture doesn't look like the equipment Casey demonstrated at CES 2009.
At least, is the price the right one?

TweekGeek should not have put the into there. Because we are still making changes to the manual (which is incomplete) and the look. The face plate will be modified again. This version borrowed the design styling from Stealth Fighter but it is too low profile. Some people prefer a bit of modern design touch.

MSR-1 focus is on software, not hardware. We want MSR-1 to provide the best of breed player+ripper+database+online album lookup (from 5 online sources!).
There is a decent analog output but most people will want to feed the S/PDIF output to external DAC (which we are also working on one for release in a few months time). Every MSR-1 has built-in remote support service and can be remotely upgraded with new software features by us directly (if it is connected to the internet, even behind home router and firewall).

AngelRiegn, what is your point?  That current PopCorn Hour can do most of what Jason says MSR-1 will be able to do?

MSR-1 benefit is in the software and support. If you're a DIY type who is very comfortable finding the best ripper, player, and manage your own PC, replace the connectors, perhaps put together your own low noise hardware box, etc you don't need to buy MSR-1.
We have not ship MSR-1 yet but you can check out the manual (1st draft) and spec on the website.

That is one DEEP menu structure.  I think anyone installing this for a customer would not have to explain much - customers would not go very deep into the menu - too confusing for the average customer who just wants good music readily available.  The work going into this makes me worry about how high the price will be.  :?

Well, I just saw the $2,250 price on Tweek Geek, so my fears have come true.  Too expensive for me. :(
