Is a way to put a track on repeat using only the front button controls on the BDP-1?

No sorry - but MPAD and MPOD and GNOME etc all have repeat options that work with the BDP-1.

No worries.  I'm breaking in a new digital cable.  I've been using one of the internet radio stations.

Headshrinker, if u have a hard drive loaded with music, just start from the first song and let it play all the songs consecutively. That's how I break in cables.

jjc1,
Thanks very much for the suggestion. I decided to use one of the internet radio stations instead, so the external hard drive wouldn't need to spin for a gazillion hours straight.
