Crakling sound on a ID8 with windows
« on: 22 Oct 2022, 10:17 am »
Hi,
I have recently purchased an ID8. Really happy with how it sound, but I have some really annoying crackling sounds (a bit like crackle pop of a vinyl album) every minute or something like that.
I'm using a DELL XPS 15 with windows 10.
I have try to change the buffer in the nuprime driver without success.
I have try to install ASIO driver (ASIO bridge), same problem.
The problem does not appear with a macbook pro.
All my driver are updated.
Any clues to help me ?
Thank you so much ! I would be really sad to have to sell it for a bug.

Are you sure the problem is with IDA-8?
From your description, this appears NOT to be a hardware problem.
Did you check the driver download on IDA-8 product page?
IDA-8 (black serial # >= 4002796, silver serial # >= 3002109) use different driver than earlier version of IDA-8. This is due to the change of USB driver chip (it is normal to replace chip when one is no longer available). Make sure you are using the correct Windows driver.
If you use the correct driver, your computer is the remaining problem. Is it possible to borrow another Windows laptop to test?
We have sold many IDA-8 and have not heard about such a problem.
