Compass?

because of the excellent off-axis response. Encompass, maybe, but I like Compass a bit better.

I'm not liking the romantic and whimsical names because the speakers look extremely purposeful and like they're not going anywhere and neither are you (physically).

They also remind me a little of chess pieces...Can't really call 'em Kings, but maybe Sovereigns. I'm too lazy to look up whether that's not already taken.

Salk Command?

I almost said Entrance but realized that could be pronounced two different ways. Supreme sounds like a fast food option...

I dunno, I'd just as soon see the name be some catchy sounding cluster of initials and numerals.

Oh, also, since you're doing the -os thing with Pharos and Archos I'm sure there are a million things you could go with there. Logos, Kronos, Apollos, Ethos, Eros, etc etc. Amigos. Gyros, you get the idea.

Epoch's

or

Millennium's

another question - any chance of outboard x-over's - either two or three-way?  and, if ordered w/o x-over at all, for active bi/tri-amping, how would this affect cost?

best,

Sure.  We are custom builders so you can have virtually anything you want.  Of course, outboard crossover enclosures will add to the cost.

You would need to tri-amp for an active version.  The cost would be perhaps a little lower, but not all that much.

I just checked--every name for a speaker has already been taken except for Bruce, Stan, and Doris.   So---is the Beast a boy or a girl?

I think you're mistaken.  Almost every Australian speaker is already named Bruce.  I think you're left with only Stan or Doris.

I think you have to go with Pat if you don't know if the HT4 is a boy or a girl.

I was thumbing through a thesaurus and decided to look up neutral. It's funny how neutral is a good thing
for speakers but none of the synonyms for neutral would be complimentary. I did find one that I liked
though. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the Salk Drabs.....?     aa

Has a certain ring to it. :green:

The idea is to prevent any vibrations from the woofer cabinet to influence the midrange/tweeter section.  We would like to de-couple these to the extent possible.

Jim,

Have you ever considered naming a speaker after one of your family members?  I couldn't think of a name better than one of your family members no matter how hard I try.

Or seeing how these speakers are a culmination of 30 years in the business (a "dream") a good name may be "Hopes", Aspirations, Chimeras, Desires or Aspires.

For a reason that I can not put my finger on, I like a plain or straightforward name for these speakers similar to the Song Tower or ht3 opposed to the Pharos and Archos.  Hmm...

Good luck Jim!
