amadeus gta azimuth

have the golf ball model, received second hand.  just wondering if there's any specific adjustment to make for the azimuth. it seems to drift after listening to a record or two.  the ball appears to be centered and the collar is in the middle of the cup.  also my worry down the road is the wiring, it doesn't seem to be very durable.  don't have much experience with turntables but i am concerned that the wire will fray both at the lead end and the plug end.  is there a way to rewrite with more durable leads?  the plug seems like it is proprietary.

The azimuth will take some time to settle, like several seconds because of the viscosity of the gel the golf ball is sitting in. When I adjust azimuth (by eye) I set it and wait a minute for it to settle, then adjust and repeat as necessary. Mine (Amadeus MKII) does not drift once it settles.

As far as the cable - I don't worry about it because I never touch it so it shouldn't be an issue IMO.
