SE9 noise
« on: 27 Oct 2008, 04:15 pm »
Looking for a little help here.  When I turn my SE 9 on there is a little noise in the left channel that sounds almost like a dirty potentiometer being used.  However, the pot is turned all the way up and should be blocking all input.  Do I have a tube going bad or is it a capacitor?  Noise is gone when tubes start to glow and doesn't come back.  Sounds great otherwise.

I had this too with one set of output EL34s. They were excellent soundwise and I think the warm up noise disappeared after some time. Maybe the vacuum improved (?)
