I have been doing a bit of investigation into storage formats and found out that many consider MPC to be the most transparent of the lossy formats. I know that loss less formats like FLAC support data rates of 24/96 but does anyone know if MPC supports 24/96? Or do people think if you want to use 24/96 you would not want a lossy format anyway?
On a related issue does anyone know if anyone can actually hear a difference between 24/96 and 24/192? The reason I ask is I am looking at using the DEQX and it samples at 24/96 - I was curious if anyone actually thinks it could be a limitation. For what it is worth I suspect the difference is inaudible even on the very best equipment.
