Rich and I had a great time though he was smarter and brought ear plugs! It's been a long time since I've heard a band in a club. The music was great but at times I wanted to take over the mixing board. Levels were insane and being a reverberant space with hard surfaces didn't help.

Saw Lori Lewis there a number of years ago and it was a great show and venue for her and her band. It's a neat little place. Who ever is manning the mixing board has a lot to do with the levels and quality of sound, especially in a small venue like this.

Thanks for the invite and driving, Rick. The band was great. Fun to hear two good jazz trumpeters. Drummer Sput Searight was super.

Big fan of these ear plugs. Made a good friend here in Chicago when I asked him about his pair at a show.

Those ear plugs also help me not get distracted by crowd noise. If only they could do something about the jerks with their iPhones held up for the whole show. Ugh.

A few years ago I saw James McMurtry and Buddy Miller there. Just a couple of months ago we saw The Heartless Bastards. Great shows, great venue. It's a 2.5 hour one way trip to me, but worth it.

I was an occasional substitute employee there in the 70s when Marsha was there. Lots of memories (good ones)
