 Guys,

I forgot I had this until I had my property delivered that I had in storage for over 3 years. Anyway, Is this a good pre-amp? I'm using a Belles 21A Tube pre-amp now.

 Thanks,
 Wig

If anyone is interested I'll sell for $100. It been in storage for 4 yrs and the volume nob is a little stiff but I have been moving it continuously and it's in good condition.

I'm in NM, I've listen to it for 4 hours and it worked with no problems.

My .5B showed up today.Works fine!A good companion for my 1990-vintage 3B Amplifier.
This particular .5B was made in October 1989. :o
After a quick spring clean to the inside with some compressed air, I hooked 'er up,and really was suprised how close it sounded to the Audio Research LS 1 that I've been using lately... :icon_lol:
If i'm not mistaken I believe that Bryston made this model for about 10 years. That's an eternity in High-End Audio...

One of these days, I'm going to have to purchase a Bryston pre-amp.  I've got a John Curl designed Parasound PHP-850.  It has tone control bypass, which I usually use, but occasionally, I'll have a recording that's  not terrific and I'll tweak the sound, a little bit, with the tone controls.

I've always wondered how different a Bryston pre-amp or a BP-20 would sound.

One of these days...

Bryston preamps are excellent. They're underrated, imo. They're very quiet and dynamic. A perfect match with the Bryston amps, imo.
