Upgrade of old BP25 to new BP25
« on: 17 Nov 2003, 11:32 pm »
Hi All,

I was curious if anyone here has upgraded their old BP25 preamp (no phono) to the "new and improved" version of the preamp. I am particularly interested to hear from people who use the BP25 with the SST amps. My config is an old BP25 and 7B-SST monoblocks.

I have read the review from Inner Ear Report listed on Bryston's web site, www.Bryston.ca .

I am also curious about the cost of the upgrade process. I have searched online for such information but none was found. So if anyone at Bryston can post the upgrade info I am sure many people would benefit. Of particular interest to me is the cost of regular upgrade, upgrade w/DAC, and cost to change the faceplate from black to silver.

Thanks

HI yyz,

The new MPS-1 power supply for the BP25 is $300 US.
The faceplates for the preamps are $100 US and the knobs are $100 for all three.
The DAC option it $1000 US and you can NOT have a pono stage built in as well if you want the DAC - one or the other but not both.
You will not believe the improvement in your system with this DAC.
