Tubes for JD100A

Looking for suggestions on different tubes to roll in this CDP. I currently have EH 12AX7A's and like the full bodied nature of them, but wouldn't mind a little more openess up top. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Try some Telefunken's.. They sound great in my JD100.

I agree with Darth, the Teles sound very good as do the CV4004 Mullards and other NOS AX7 variations.
Playing with NOS can be expensive but well worth the effort in the end. For some of the more affordable tubes, various 5751s have also been widely admired.
I would not classify the EH 12AX7 as a "warmer" sounding tube as I find it to be a bit more precise. Certian 12AX7WAs and 5751 are what I consider to be "warmer" sounding.

SOme experimentation may be in order to find just the right tube for your preferences.

Hey Bill, I also use the Mullard CV4004. Great tube.. Well worth the $$$$
I switch them every 3 to 4 months.. That's why we love tubes..
