BDP-2 no longer play .dsf file
« on: 25 Mar 2020, 07:06 pm »
Hi, until recently, my BDP-2 read the 2ch128.dsf files, but now, suddenly, when I try to start them, they remain still with the pause symbol that appears on the display. I know that having the ESI juli@ sound card, I shouldn't be able to read DSD, but a part of .dsf files that before I could play, now they don't work anymore. I don't think I moved anything in the configuration, do you have any ideas?

Many Thanks
Roberto

Hello, this is very strange… actually BDP2 should not handle DSD in theory, but if it did it before it shall continue… did you update firmware either in the BDP or in the DAC?

Sorry for the long delay, it was a piece that I did not enter.
Update can't remember, it may be that it stopped reading DSF after a reboot.
My BDP-2 current firmware is this:

Go to my.bryston.com
click on the device
in screen scroll down to audio devices
for the usb device click on the check box
below click on apply
it should now read USB Audio (DSD enabled)

I went to my.bryston.com, but I read: ''no results'' - Your network ID: GFW, I can't match BDP...
I probably didn't understand something...
However USB is enabled and working, but only play flac.

Ok, I did as You wrote to me and actually appeared: (DSD Enabled) and now it sounds, Many Thanks!  :thumb:
I hadn't noticed that it was checkmark before.

Question: box to the left of ESI Juli@, do I leave them empty? No need to check, right?
Thanks again...

Leave the other boxes empty.
