LGK 2.0 for multichannel home theater
« on: 12 Nov 2022, 06:09 pm »
I'm doing a 7.2 home theater installation with severe space restraints, so I'd need a smaller speaker. Would be fun to try the LGK for at least the front three speakers, if not the full array. The room is 14 wide and 28 deep (back from the screen).

A few questions...

-- Lots of HT processors set a crossover frequency setting of 80hz, and lots of surround speakers are tuned to this spec too. Would the LGKs hit acceptably high SPLs at that crossover point? I know Hobbes has said they can belt it out from 100hz on up, but I wasn't sure about 80hz.

-- Would a slot port in the front (as opposed to the back) be a disaster or something to avoid?

If you are going to use them in that application then I would recommend the LGK 2.1 model. It will handle more power. They are also sealed boxes and will respond well to close wall placement.

We also just finished the new LGK 2.2 center channel model and we will be launching it shortly.
