Chicago Transit Authority:  CTA         Columbia  '70 release

Interesting album. Again doesn't quite match exactly with the discogs info. Definitely a Terre Haute plant pressing, reverse gatefold, but the inside right info says it's a quad pressing. Nothing else does, and not a quad label.

Probably my favorite SB album :)
Savoy Brown  ~  Street Corner Talking

Parrot

Boy CB, I'd have a heck of a time picking a SB favorite. Raw Sienna, Blue Matter, A Step Further, Looking In, Hellbound Train, so many great releases. Don't make me choose.  :D

That's what I was thinking as I typed it!  :duh:

Thought some Mayall would fit nicely after that! Love all the ones you mentioned. Great Chicago lp there also!  :thumb:

Cream:  Wheels of Fire         Ploydor, '70 UK pressing

This reasearching thing is kinda fun, if not time consuming when you don't have one that quite matches the criteria. First time I've gone to discogs to see what it is I actually have. I also have a Cream Box Set pressed by Deustche Grammaphone, but thought I'd see what this copy sounds like. So far pretty good.

My Mayall collection is pretty limited at the moment. I have seen him twice in the last 25+, what a showman. Saw him with Coco & Walter just after Chicago Line was released. Relatively small dinner/drinks venue. They were smokin'. He's always a winning selection.  :thumb:

Mr. Dent,

I saw Mayall in 1969 at the Schwangere Auster ("pregnant oyster"), in Berlin. To this day, I think it's the best concert I've ever attended.

Evening jr (or would do you prefer just j ? saves on keystrokes & I'm lazy), call me AD, or JD, both are correct (if not accurate as well). I'm sure it was special to see him back then. Who was playing guitar with him out of curiosity if I may ask ? I saw him again with Buddy Guy late '90s I think, and he was still one hard working SOG. That show wasn't quite as enjoyable, while it was an even smaller venue, it was standing only. This was not known when we got tickets, first (and last) time at that place. It was a great show, but standing in one place for 90 minutes or so is not a lot of fun. Have a great evening & keep 'em spinnin'    :thumb:

If you are a fan of Chicago Transit Authority, you need to own this pressing. IMO, it is by far and away better than any other pressing, including the original.

Hi Laura, Chicago is one of my favorite bands and I love their early stuff.. I saw
them three different times when I lived in NY.. Terry Kath was still with the band
at that time. I’ll put this album on my must have list.. Thanks for the tip.

Regards,
Jerry

Evening Laura - will have to check it out. Yes, it's my fave of theirs. Was in school there when it was released. I remember the fuss when the City threatened to sue them unless they changed their name. Have finally gotten to the point where I can begin to restock the library, just need to make time now.  :thumb:

Sweet CB      When I get to shopping I think his library is going to be in the top ten I look for.  :thumb: So much music, so little time & $.

Not familiar with those P-man, but then there's lots I'm not familiar with. Tentatively I have my 1st excursion scheduled for next week. Then not too far down the road I need to head to Spokane. With luck Laura can point me to the 'good stuff'.  :D  I used to know where it was, 33 years ago, but it's changed a lot in that time.  :thumb:
