My two worst (audio-wise) Coltrane CDs were "Giant Steps" and "My Favorite Things". Sounded as if the bass player was down the hall, the drummer was using his mitten-donned hands to strike the drums and cymbals instead of sticks, and the piano wire was replaced with insulated wire. Remasters of these two from Rhino ('98) are immensely better. Well worth the $6.99 each from
