Lots of systems.  Some good, some not so good, some good but way outside of most budgets.

Still my favorite...

I'm still here at AXPONA, but when I went into Klaus's room it was PACKED to the gills. I mean packed!! The entire floor area was wall-to-wall people standing there. It was like a really popular cocktail party.....without the cocktails. 🍸

It's close to 4:30 now, maybe I should head back there to see if I can listen to some actual music this time.  😉

I stopped by yesterday and today. As always the Odyssey room stands out in part to Klaus's outsize personality. He played a few cuts from Santana Abraxis. It was outstanding. Those Kismet speakers really sing. After hearing many great systems today it is not difficult to say that Odyssey Audio can compete with the best, especially for the value.

I don't think Klaus will mind...

The Block Audio room was truly mind blowing.  Small 2 way bookies that were just astounding.  I think they are out of Poland.  No room treatments - nothing but some big A$$ amps and a very simple layout but just mind blowing sound coming out of those speakers!!  Bass and everything, a complete package.

The speakers came with the stands for a mere $17k and if I only had $200,000 laying around doing nothing I could have gotten the entire setup...

Bang for buck anyone?  Klaus wins.   :thumb:

I've been looking at these (out of my price range obviously) but on paper they don't seem anything special. Elaborate more on them? Was there something mentioned in the room about what makes them so great?

Maybe just magic...?  Room had no treatments, there was no sub.  The monitors are not powered (no plate amp and sneaky side woofers).  The monitors are ported.  It's not impossible the pre setup has room compensation.  I guess for that price I'd expect something other than a standard pre.  I'll bet the amps are straight class A and they were monsters.

I'm not even sure what he was playing.  But then the bass came in.  It wasn't boomy but it was deep and powerful.  Those cones are what...6"ers on the high side?

I honestly cannot answer that question with any authority at all.

Sensational room! Klaus gets the most out of any room with his setup expertise, and his affordable electronics and speakers perform way beyond their modest prices. Congratulations Klaus on another outstanding system regardless of price!

I had a very busy show schedule, but I finally made it to Klaus' room Sunday afternoon....the room was crowded, but I managed to fit into the hallway, and so glad I did.  Klaus was playing Billy Cobham!  Who plays Billy Cobham?  Klaus does.  IT ROCKED.  The room made music.  End of story.

Stopped by the Odyssey Audio room on Saturday, asked Klaus if he could play some rock and roll?
He yelled “F**K YA!”  He put on side one of Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here. He turned the lights out, handed me the remote, and left the room. 20 minutes or so later he came back in and I bought the speakers! :thumb:

Congrats.

Magnan is correct.  Dave Magnan retired some years ago and closed the company.  Recently someone else purchased the company, they are replicating some of the products (Type Vi and Vi Signature interconnects), and making facsimiles of others (speaker cables).  I own interconnects from the old company and they are spectacular.  Micro thin bronze ribbons with very high inductance, the anathema of standard theory, that addresses skin effect.
