Hi

Having a nr-mint set of VR-4's, I am wondering if it's wise to get the upgrade to the VR-5 specs or should I leave it as is. I kind of like having a original set in this condition (knowing that this was the start of the great VR line) and yet I know the sound of the VR-5's (my dealer has a pair in one of his audio rooms)

But I'm also not sure of how the sound may turn out?? Closer to a VR-4SR, VR-5 etc....I just don't know, and not having heard a upgraded pair, it is a big gamble!!

Any suggestions?

Good question

In this hobby, I would never buy anything if I didnt get a chance to hear it. You are fortunate that you have a dealer to hear a pair of VR5's.....unlike myself I have no dealers by me.

It would be nice to have a comparsion between an upgraded VR4 GEN III (VR5 Anniversary specs) and a real pair VR 5 anniversary..
