Pics of my Octal
« on: 15 Feb 2004, 03:46 pm »
I finally have pics of my completed Octal version.

I'll be replacing the two 6SL7's whan my new sylvania's get here. Hopefully that will slow down the changes........or maybe not   .

Bobbi,
It looks good,
BUT, you have to tell us what is it sound like?
What's your impression of it?
Can you compare it to other phono stages?
So, give us a full report.

Thanks
Sergey

Can't have a final conclusion until after I stop.......

messing with it.  :D

So, that will have to wait until after I have a chance to draw conclusions with the NOS Sylvania VT-229's (1945 vintage) installed. They just arrived today and I am very anxious to get them installed.

I'm also waiting on a full set of Herbie's HAL-O's to arrive.

I hope Jim realizes what a monster he has created...... I believe I have been able to hear a difference with every component change, some for the better and some for the worse, but all audible to some extent. Being able to hear these changes does nothing but encourage me to make even more changes......when will the madness end????? And soon we'll have amps and pre-amps to mess with.

Also,
What TT and cartridge do you use with Octal Cornet ?
Do you use step up transformer ?
What phono cable you have ?

Thanks
