System Overview

My system is 2-channel music only. I listen to headphones and speakers in about a 50:50 ratio. I strive for clarity, dynamics, and a balanced frequency spectrum.

Music Preferences

I listen primarily to rock, but a little jazz occasionally. Some of my favorites include The Pixies, XTC, Led Zeppelin, and Rush. I like mellow acoustic music as well as bombastic rock extravaganzas, depending on my mood!

Room Description

My listening room is a spare bedroom. I only have my audio system and some guitars/amps in there. I have a single chair for listening and it is positioned such that there is roughly an equilateral triangle between the speakers and listening position. The room is carpeted, and I have room treatments as described below.

Acoustic Treatment

All my room treatments are from RealTraps and consist of the following: (2) MiniTraps in the front corners behind speakers (2) RFZ panels at first reflection points (1) HF MiniTrap on wall directly behind listening position

Listening Impressions

This system in my room suits my tastes very well. I can't say it's all perfect, though. I think the weak link is my room and I need more treatments and perhaps rearranging it overall will also help.
