I hope my experience may help other members who need to do a factory reset on their Volumio Primo v1.
Recently I've been unable to establish the connection between the Volumio app and my Primo v1 after an update via my iPad. When I ran a LAN scan, my Primo showed up with an IP address! Thus, I contacted Volumio tech support for help and was told that a Youtube plugin probably caused the issue. Volumio instructed me to a fixes from Github; however, there's a syntax error with the Node js script.
We then tried to do a factory reset but with no success! Initially, I formatted the thumb drive by macOS. But the Volumio tech suggested I format it by Raspberry Pi Imager instead. Viola! It works this time. If you want to perform a factory reset, you better use Raspberry Pi Imager if you are a Mac user.
