Dusty, if the D200's are switched off, do they still load the pre-amp.

I'm interested in a DIY hybrid pre-amp that has no tape outputs, but has 2 main outs.

I know I could run a headphone amp from one of the main outs of the hybrid pre-amp, but is this safe to do with the D200's switched off. I have been told by the designer of the pre-amp that some solid state power-amps could cause severe distortion by loading the output of a pre-amp if the power-amp is switched off. Thanks.

Won't be a problem with our amplifiers.
When in standby(mute), the input stage is powered and will stay at 100k input impedance. Only the output (switching) is turned off.
