MarkAudio Alpair 12P On Open Baffle?
« on: 1 Mar 2023, 07:15 am »
Hi. I'm  a newbie here so I can't do a Search on this yet. Has anyone tried using any MarkAudio Alpair 12P (8" full-range driver) on an open baffle?

MITsound @ diyAudio.com has real world experience with OB and A12p.

As with most OBs you will need a helper woofer and use the Alpair as a midTweeter.

I have experience with A12p in more normal boxes.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'm studying the posts you recommended. I do plan to use a pair of 15" subs, a planar tweeter and DSP for triamping crossovers, EQ, delay, polarity, etc. the Alpair 12P will be used as a bass-midrange driver above 100Hz in a 24"W by 50" high open baffle with the tweeter mounted just above or below, slightly above ear level.

I should have mentioned   :duh:  that "The Ultimate Open Baffle Gallery" is a thread in the "Multi-way" forum of the diyAudio website:
https://www.diyaudio.com/community/forums/multi-way.6/          you'll want to sign up as a member on that site too if you haven't already done so.
