Using Icon as Power Amp
« on: 27 May 2009, 04:22 pm »
Hi,

New NuForce customer here -- I've got an AVP17 and an Icon w/ upgraded PS coming my way.   :D

I plan to try several applications with the Icon.  One of those is using it as a power amp for the rear speakers in a surround setup.  As the NuForce webpage says, "As a high-quality auxiliary power amp in a surround-sound setup, the Icon can be used to drive tweeters or rear-channel speakers."  So, I'm assuming I can just take the rear-channel outputs from the AVP17 to the RCA inputs on the Icon and then dial-in the volume to get the right blend.  Am I wrong in this?  Anything else of which I should be aware?

Thanks,
Lou

Hi,
No problem to run AVP17's rear surround RCA into the Icon for rear speakers.
