Grill and magnet question..
« on: 21 Dec 2011, 03:24 pm »
For my xls-encore build I would like to use the magnetic grills.
If my baffle is 1" mdf to be finished with black paint, how do I
install the magnets in the baffle?
Can I install them from the rear of the baffle?
or do I just put them in from the front and put some filler over them ?

Install mags on back of baffle to make the best look.  They have plenty of pull to connect the front magnet when you are done.

Drill hole, glue in magent (the correct way for polarity) and done.

Also, sometimes i use the magnet on the front grill to adhere the grill cloth better to the grill.  Glue the front magnet in the hole over the cloth for a better stick...

Thanks. so in a 1 inch baffle if I drill from behind, how deep should I drill the hole ?

i would just make them flush.  The neo magnets are so strong, they actually will work through my fingers very well.   If you want to go half way, no problem there.
