That's great Alex.  :thumb:

I missed Tommy this time due to my wife having a terrible cold, and I felt kinda funny going alone.

Glad he put on such a wonderful show for you. :D

I hope to catch him on his next trip through Beach Haven.

It arrived Monday and I've listened to it just once.  Sound quality is excellent and the music is very good, similar to his other solo CDs, which I have also.  If you like them, you'll like this one.  Walter Becker has a relatively new CD out also;  it came yesterday, but I haven't listened to it yet.
Also, I've taken the 4 parts of The List and combined them into one word file.  I fixed a few things I noticed and got rid of all (I hope) duplicates.  I don't know how to best post it here, but if you are interested in it, send me a pm and I'll email it to you.

mzbrahce...

Thanks for the feedback...I have all the other Fagen cd's and they all are really good. Guess I will have to spring for this one as well...

Sitting here listening to another wonderful group and stellar recording...."Fourplay" and their Energy CD.

As far as the list in one place ie a word file etc...that's great....There was some kind of limitation in the amount I could post and decided to just break them up over time and add links....

The list's are good until the last entry as far as currency and there are some dups for sure....Someone else did something like this awhile back and posted to another site etc...don't remember but its in this thread somewhere!

Need to go back and do another update, but the thread has been really on the slow side in the past few months seems like we have achieved 'critical mass'.... :(

Hope things take off once again!!

All the best
Alex

Just discovered John Hiatt and his several cds that are very nice.

"The Best of John Hiatt" and the recent "Mystic Pinball: in particular are very nice.

There is a song called 'Child Of The Wild Blue Yonder" that has an opening set of drum whacks that I have listened to over and over and over....its really awesome.

A few of the CD's/songs I like to test with are:

Allen Toussaint's "The Bright Mississippi
Buena Vista Social Club "Buena Vista Social Club"
Nickel Creek "This Side" Sabra Girl
Howard Shore "Hugo Original Score" The Thief
Yo-Yo Ma "Yo-Yo Ma Plays Ennio Morricone"

There are plenty more, but these are a few of my favorites

If you like those John Hiatt, you will most likey enjoy JJ Cale's - Naturally LP. (I used to have Slow Turning and Naturally on flip sides of a cassette back in the day, so they are now forever linked in my brain).

Great stuff both.

Evening of My Best Day - Rickie Lee Jones.

Wonderful, wonderful sound. (The low bass might be a bit loose - or it might be my not-up-to-snuff sub, I'm not sure - but good enough.)

You can it cheap used on amazon.

I rarely, rarely, rarely like albums put out after the early/mid-80's. (Not into classical.) I want to like Ms. Jones - and I listened to a couple of other of her later albums (It's Like This and Balm In Gilead) and they just don't make it in my book.  This is a really good one.

Buena Vista Social Club "Buena Vista Social Club"

Glad you mentioned this, as I got the HDTracks hires version Buena Vista Social Club and it never fails to move me. Highly recommended!

For Bluegrass fans there's Allison Krauss and Union Station's Paper Airplane which sounds ridiculously good on my Salks.
