A little more Cornet (grounding) help, please?
« on: 6 Jan 2006, 02:13 pm »
1.From the separate IEC I have the ground post to Earth on the board. OK?
2. Should the ground post also go to Earth or can it go to one of the signal grounds?
3. Is Earth a safety ground? Do I need to ground one of the transformer bolts? Do I need to attach the chassis plate to Earth? (I'm not using a metal box but rather a metal chassis plate setting on a wood box.)
TIA

It is typically good to tie chassis and transformer bells to earth ground.  This should also then connect to the GND lug.  Then you can tied PCB ground to GND lug.  Isolate RCA jack shields.

jh :)
