Long startup time of x'treme mono
« on: 20 Aug 2003, 03:47 am »
I am an owner of x'treme monos for three months.
Recently, my left channel takes 5-6 hours (not minutes!) to start music after powered-on.
Every time I powered off and on the amp, startup time is getting longer.
Three months ago, both channels equally started within 10 seconds
and right channel still starts like before.
I have not noticed apparent sonic difference between both channels,
so I can use the left channel as it is (with a patience for inconvenience).
But I don't think this is normal condition and worry about negative effects to the sound.
I am really grateful if anyone would explain technical background why this long startup time happen.
And have anyone had the same experience?

W.C.

I would think Klaus would be the one to ask, don't you?

Yes, W.C., I am now consulting to Klaus,
but he seems to be too busy to take care of me. :(
I would like to know if anyone had experienced similar situation
and how he dealt with it.

It sounds like something with the delay start device.

I think Klaus needs a sticky in this circle with his phone number on it.

That is how Klaus is. He is always busy like a working bee :-). But once you get a hold of him, he will take good care of you.

F-100,
Yep, I know he is a nice guy and I like his amp very much.

MaxCast,
I now live on the opposite side of the earth from Indiana so it is a bit hard for me to talk with him directly by phone.

Anyway, I can understand that my amp is in abnormal condition now,
that's enough for me. I’ll talk to Klaus again.
Thank you, guys. :)
