« on: 27 Feb 2014, 11:25 pm »
just fixed my onkyo p308 grand integra preamp,
I am hoping this will be a good fit with the odyssey amps.
i also have a nice B&K pro10 MC

i think i have my preamps covered for my systems.

what do you think of those preamp choices with odyssey amps ?

 I definitely will.

the XLR  vs.  RCA ---unless there is a long run, would it really make a audible difference in sound I would hear ?  I have been using the audioquest XLR cables in my B&K pro10 for 20 years, and recently sent them in to be fixed to (like new) status.
Are a descent pair of RCA's just as good.??

Some people claim hearing improvements with XLR, but I've never really noticed anything unless you NEED to make long runs. Even then, proper placement of the cables from power sources/lines, you should be fine. Maybe it's beneficial with ultra high-end gear, but if you have the cash to get that kind of gear, why not go the extra mile and get the XLR's just to be on the safe side.

Personally, I wouldn't spend the extra on XLR's if the runs are kept to a minimum (3m or less).

I'm using Belden + Neutrik for both ( XLR and RCA ). Very happy with them.
