I actually have some jazz recordings. I might try them...

I still want those 1400s.  :P

Now you've said it like a man. "I want them and I don't need no stinkin' excuse for it".

All I could say in this case is "go get'em".  :P

I was visiting Ron and Rob at Altronics a little while ago and Ron mentioned that a review on the JBL 1400’s was in the pipe - metaphorically speaking of course. Interesting that JBLs are getting some magazine exposure now.

I wonder which summit they will climb next

Be well...

Hi Laundrew,

You can credit me with the 1400 review interest - I turned Larry on to them when he read my review :D

Yes James, that would be me. haha. That was taken at the NAMM show...they're promo models for the guitar case company, Coffin Case.

Not a dime was spent on them. Honestly.

Anyway, I just got 2 copies of Stereophile from the fine folks at JBL. They rock! The review is great! Very educational and entertaining. Larry Greenhill knows his stuff.

It's great to see these speakers get some prime time exposure ... I have the 1400/7BSST2 combo and they are fantastic!

No chance ... it took a few years to find the right speaker for me so I plan on keeping them for a while.

Cool, I would do the same. I guess if you wanna go higher in the JBL line, you would go for the K2s, but those are $30000 US. Which makes the 1400 Array a damn good value in comparison...

These for you:

http://www.avantgarde-acoustic.de/hornlautsprecher_optik.php?produkt=trio&t=optik&produkt_id=4&f=rot&s=&p=perspektive

At 109 db efficiency, they'll blow your mind out   :icon_twisted:

BTW what was JBL thinking of when using compression drivers to produce... what, 89 db?

They're not that big.... think about them.... as you'll age you can place your chair closer and closer... finally you could just sit between them and direct the horns directly into your ears... sparkling treble in your 80's!!!! Priceless!!!!
