Build time for a 4b sst2 Amp?
« on: 6 May 2010, 03:11 pm »
How long does it usually take after an order is placed to produce and deliver an amp?

Just curious?

Thanks,
D

Assuming it is not in stock about a week to 10 days tops.
Problems?

Do you try and keep some in inventory? And if so how many?

Thanks,
D

Hi,

On a big seller like the 4B usually but with 2 different colours and 4 different faceplates available it sometimes does not work out exactly in terms of which version the customer specifically wants.

Apparently the BR2 remote takes more. Especially in black.

Yes

But don't worry I can take the wait. Dealer was kind enough to let me learn the codes into a Sony universal one. So I have something to use until the BR2 arrives.

It was the wait for the amp that was excruciatingly painful. I had no decent substitute for it :thumb:

It took 8 weeks for my 4B SST2 to arrive in the UK, I was told it was a rare build by my dealer, 17" in black, not too sure about that one, then it got held up due to the volcano disrupting flights, one thing though, it was definately worth the wait  :thumb:

Same amp in 17" black here too.

The dealer gave me an ETA and on that very day the amp + preamp were waiting for me to pick them up.

You can watch my agony in the "Going through withdrawals" thread

Hello folks

I had my 14B personally delivered by James Tanner in under 10 days. And that was not before i had it properly blessed (blessing of musical might) by an appropriately ranked clergyman at the factory.

I am just a few doors down (about 200 miles east) and mine only took 12 days from leaving the testbench to my equipment rack... the only difference is 2 inches and 2 handles. It was delayed by the volcano as well, otherwise it would have been here sooner...

Ten days tops for any of the Bryston gear I've ordered!  Considering it's delivered to the Left coast, it's a pretty quick turnaround!

Well, my 4BSST took forever, but that was the dealer's (West L.A. Music in L.A.) screw up...the BP6 purchased from another dealer (Reference Audio/Video in Gardena, CA) came rather quickly.

I'll never do business with West L.A. again. They are not professional. At least this guy I dealt with wasn't.

I highly recommend Reference Audio/Video. The owner, Ken rocks!
