Bryston 28 B3 and Wilson Sasha 2
« on: 9 Dec 2018, 07:35 pm »
Hello Audiocircle members, all the best music and good sound to all of you.

Just bought Bryston 28 B3 mono block amplifiers replacing Spectral 260 stereo amp.

Had enough missing power to drive my Wilson Audio Sasha 2.

I love........................my new sound.

Question : What could be the best speaker cables to use ?

Depends on the sound you like, but Wilson usually demonstrates their speakers with MIT.

I already have MIT (Spectral cables and they are made to reduce the bandwidth ) I was more thinking of Transparent cables or even Bryston cables ?

Now I am surprised you moved off Spectral to go to Bryston. How come you did not move up the Spectral line, but saying that moving up the Spectral line is serious money. Going up to say DMA-280  or DMA-300RS will cost you between £22000 - £28000 in the UK.

The Spectral / MIT cables only reduce the MHz to KHz as Spectral run in the MHz region to prevent the amp going into oscillation and also speakers don't work in the MHz range anyway. So it should not affect you using your Spectral / MIT cable with you Bryston amp.

Thanks Toocool4 for the reply. I realised lately that my Wilson Sasha 2 will benificiated big time running with a much stronger amp.Spectral has the DMA-400 who cost $40,000 CDN money and unfortunatly we have no more Canadian Distributor.I've paid $20,000 for the Bryston, bang for the buck.

Thanks Toocool4 for the explanation ,I had before really no ideas why Spectral insist strongly to go with the MIT brand.
In the meantime , after many sounds tests, I found that removing all MIT/ Spectral cables in my system from Spectral pre-amp to Bryston amp and going with normal copper speakers cables improved strongly the overall sound. A veil was removed, much bigger soundstage, crystal high and deeper bass.So now I'm looking maybe to buy the Bryston cables. What do you think ? Any suggestions ?

Hi roots, I would not know what cables to recommend. I have only heard Bryston amps in Hi-Fi Shows, not knowing what the rest of the equipment are doing I could not tell you what a Bryston really sounds like.
I guess if your dealer has loads of cables that you can take home and try, that would be your best option to really know what works best in your system.

Hi, I have the Sasha 2s with all Bryston electronics. Amps are 7Bsst2. I use Bryston cables which I believe are all the cables you need.
